Screening for Color Vision Deficiency in Health Science Students
نویسندگان
چکیده
Purpose: Various professions require employees to be able detect different shades of color accurately when visually reading test results with colorimetric end points. To prepare health science students better meet this requirement, a screening for vision deficiency (CVD) was administered any major or minor errors as part the undergraduate student experience. Method: Screening using Farnsworth D-15 Color Vision Test. Students completed and their were scored interpreted at time completion. Results: (n=85) from nine programs Ages participants ranged 18-63 years 70% in age range 18-23 years. Seventy-one percent identified female, 28% males, 1% non-binary. Two (one female one male) had error resulting crossover within circle on Gulden score sheet. There no 85 participants. Conclusion: While two detected population, data is not consistent other CVD studies. This most likely due predominately students, and/or amount allotted each individual completed. Future studies will include expanding participant numbers, focus testing more male participants, limiting number minutes complete process, collecting additional demographic data.

متن کاملColor vision deficiency among a group of students of health sciences.
Color vision deficiency, most of the time remains an unnoticed problem; even many doctors/health professionals do not know the severity of their color vision deficiency and their disability. Some common difficulties reported by medical practitioners and students of health sciences were in recognizing- widespread body color changes (pallor, cyanosis, icterus, rashes, erythema of skin), colorful ...
متن کاملProjector Camera System Presenting Color Information for Color Vision Deficiency
There are individual differences in color vision. It is difficult for people with defective cones in the retina to recognize the difference of specific colors. We propose a system using a camera and a projecctor to present color information for color vision deficiency. When there are indistinguishable colors in real objects, the system converts the color to a distinguishable color for projectio...

متن کاملRed-Green Color Vision Deficiency and Lack of Awareness among Rural School Students in India
Color vision deficiency (CVD) occurs when there is an error in the development of one or more types of retinal cone cells that receive color in light and transmit that information to the optic nerve (1). Among them, red-green CVD shows the highest prevalence (2). Red-Green CVD is divisible into severe or dichromatic forms [protanopia and deu-teranopia] and milder or anomalous trichromatic forms...
